A Christmas Legend at the Hotel Del Coronado

    One of our favorite Holiday traditions is visiting the Hotel Del Coronado.

    Every year The Del has a new Holiday theme and 2018 is “A Christmas Legend”

    Celebrate the season at the Hotel Del Coronado with the return of the magnificent holiday tradition, Skating by the Sea, one of our favorite things to do during the Holidays.

    Not in a lot of places you can ice skate with such an spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.

    The Del’s iconic Victorian Building brightens the night with thousands of white lights. Ice Skating tickets are $30/person online, $35/person at the rink.     This year a special treat! Skate with Tara Lipinski at Hotel del Coronado  Join Olympic Gold Medalist Tara Lipinski for a once-in-a-lifetime skate session at Hotel del Coronado’s Skating by the Sea on December 15. Up to 50 children of all skill levels are invited to skate with Tara to her custom playlist. After ice time with Tara, guests can enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, along with an opportunity for photos with the figure skating champion.

    Price: $150 per child. Parents or guardians must be present for this event and asked to sign a waiver before their child participates. December 15, 2018 4:00 PM-5:00 PM

    Another one of our family’s favorite Holiday traditions You can be naught or nice, everyone is welcome to dine with St. Nick during Sunday Brunch with Santa.

    My boys and had brunch with Santa last year and it was Holidaylicious. Parents indulge in the Del’s lavish Crown Room Brunch, enjoying bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys.

    While kids can’t get enough of the delicious sweets, such as the Donut bar, Carlos’ favorite!

    And the whole family creates amazing Holiday Del Memories meeting Santa and taking the perfect Holiday card photo. Check out my full article about Sunday Brunch with Santa here!

     Jingle Roast We have the perfect weather in San Diego, so how about an afternoon on the beach Holiday style! Cozy up on the beach with Santa hats, blankets, beach chairs, and sweet treats during a private holiday bonfire. Dine on roasted favorites from Jingle s’mores with Ghirardelli holiday chocolates to fireside franks and more.
    Dates: Tuesday, December 18 – Monday, December 24 Price: $125 per hour for the fire pit, beach chairs, blankets, and Santa hats, with the option to add on roast menu items.
    Families and children are invited to a special tea party experience plus hot chocolate, cookie and cupcake decorating, a craft table, live entertainment, and story time with Mrs. Claus and North Pole elves. Families are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped teddy bear for donation. A portion of the proceeds from this special Teddy Bear Tea will also be donated to the charity. Date: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 22. Price: $65 for adults; $35 for children (ages 6-10); complimentary for children under 5.
