Since the first movie Cars, my family and I have been fans, my boys used to sing all the songs and watched Cars and Cars 2 a thousand times, so imagine so excited we’re about Cars 3 which will be in theaters this Friday June 16th!
To celebrate the film we had a Cars 3 themed Party over the weekend, it was an impromptu party and to tell you the truth I didn’t want to spend a lot of money, but with my creativity (Sometimes I get inspired and I’m creative LOL) and the help of my boys we were able to “Race to the Fun” So here’s how to throw a Cars 3 Themes Party on a Budget.
Luigi’s Casa Della Tires
I wanted to include all the original characters of Cars and this donut tower is very easy to make, here’s what I used:
- 2 big chocolate donuts
- 1 bag of mini chocolate donuts
Place a big donut at the bottom, stack 4 mini donuts around it holding them with a toothpick (I inserted the toothpick them in the center of the mini donut) Repeat the same process as many times as you like to make as tall as you want. Place mini donuts around it to make it look like a junkyard.
The kids had so much fun eating the “tires” !
This was actually, my boy’s idea since they love Mac & Cheese.
- (1) box of Cars Mac & Cheese
- (1) Wheels Pasta
I cooked the pasta and Mac & Cheese together as I normally do and added the cheese.
I had to include some fruit in our party and actually this fruit cars were a hit! Here’s what I used:
- Red apples
- Green Grapes
- Cut the apple in equal pieces and the grapes in half
- Insert a toothpick on each edge of the apple and insert one half of the grape
- I used a gansito Marinela for the stoplight, but can use a brownie.
- I inserted using a toothpick at the bottom of the gansito I inserted it on to a mini donut for support.
- M&M’s for lights.
There’s no party without cupcakes and my good friend from La Bonne Creme made me this super cute and delicious Cars inspired cupcakes, of course they were gone in minutes!
As decorations I used, toy cars and decorations from my kid’s room, the cones are soda cups from Disneyland Resort we got at Carsland. I used black & red vines as cables and placed them on glass containers and added m&m’s, checkers cloth gives the table a great touch.
If you don’t want to spend too much, you can cut small pieces of paper to use as white lines on road and place them over a black table linen. It makes a great race track table! You don’t have to spend a lot of money to throw a fun party, you just have to be creative, I spent less than $100! and the kids had an amazing time! Race to fun! and Celebrate the release of Disney Cars 3 with a party using some of my ideas!
