Why I Don’t Care About San Valentine’s Day and JCPenney Gift Card Giveaway

I really don’t care about San Valentine’s, for me is cheesy, there’s hearts everywhere, people wear read on February 14th, couples feel obligated to be romantic and spend money of gifts or dates. I know it’s an excuse to show that you care, but for me is just another day. My husband and I don’t give each other gifts on San Valentine’s, he used to give me flowers but I don’t think he’s done it in a few years, but he’s very good at giving me gifts just because, so no complaints.

But don’t take me wrong I do celebrate San Valentine’s Day with my kids, this year since we’re in New York City I’m planning on taking them to lunch to a nice place as my dates since my husband won’t be with us that day and I got them a $10 gift card for Game Stop, which always makes them very happy. I think it’s important to show children the importance of LOVE and to care about someone else.

As I said I don’t get my husband a San Valentine’s Day gift but I’m not the majority, in 2017 Americans will spend $18.2 Billion Dollars in San valentine’s gifts, 90% of people in a relationship will buy a gift and the average spending amount will be around $140

  1. Wow, my first kiss. Firstly I would have to say that I met the lucky guy in a Theme Park three months prior. It was a water park, and since my brother and I were the only crazy ones going down the water slides in the middle of winter, every time we went up for another jump, I got to meet this guy a bit more. Who doesn’t fall for the lifeguard, right? Anyways, so we went out on a date on February 1st. I was 15, but everyone in my school apparently already had their first kiss. I felt like that movie with Drew Barrymore. And although it wasn’t my first date with a boy, I had a feeling I might have my first kiss on that date. We were in the mall, sitting and just talking about nothing that makes sense now, but it did back then I guess, things are odd when you are a teenager. To make the story short, I was so nervous, that I couldn’t wait for him to hiss me, even though I know he wanted to, he was just very shy. So I ended up being the one who stole the kiss, it was more like a peck. Then I freaked out, because I couldn’t believe I did that, and I ran. HAHAHA. For the most part it was late and my mom was technically there to pick me up, just on another side of the mall. I think it was special because it was my first kiss, on a first day of the love month, it was sweet, and it was nice that the boy I shared that special moment with was shy, because it made me feel, like he was a good guy. I just happened to take him by surprise, HAHA. Y mi mamá, bien gracias. I know she suspected, but she gave me my space to process things like these. It has since then always become a funny anecdote, especially because the next day everyone in my school found out. I guess it just showed in my face. Super scary. Gracias por la oportunidad de ganar este premio, y por hacerme recordar esto. Me hizo sonreir. Happy Valentine´s Day!
